Opening a new internet bill for the first time can feel confusing, especially if the total doesn’t match what you expected. This quick guide breaks down every section of your GoNetspeed bill, so you know exactly what you’re paying for — plus what to expect on your very first invoice.
Breaking Down Your GoNetspeed Bill
Your monthly GoNetspeed bill is organized into a few key sections. Once you know what each one shows, reading your bill takes just a few seconds.
Bill Header
The bill header gives you a quick snapshot of your account: your previous balance, current balance, total amount due, and any payments or adjustments made during the last billing cycle.
Message Center
The message center is where GoNetspeed shares important account updates, so it’s worth a quick glance every month to stay in the loop on anything that affects your service or billing.
Remittance Stub
If you pay by mail, tear off the remittance stub and send it back with your payment. This section also includes your payment due date and total amount due.
Line Summary
The line summary lists every service on your account — internet, phone, streaming, and so on — along with a summary of charges for each one.
Monthly Usage
The monthly usage section itemizes the details behind those charges, including credits, taxes, and surcharges for each service. This is the best place to look if you want to see exactly what makes up your total bill.
How to Pay Your GoNetspeed Bill
Once you know what you owe, GoNetspeed makes it easy to pay. You can pay online through your account, over the phone, or by mail using the remittance stub included with your paper bill.
Why Your First GoNetspeed Bill Looks Different
If your first GoNetspeed bill doesn’t match what you expected, there’s a simple explanation: proration.
What Is Bill Proration?
Proration means you’re only charged for the days you actually had service, not a full month. Your GoNetspeed billing cycle starts the day your installation is complete — so if your install happens partway through the month, you won’t pay for days before your service started.
Billed in Advance vs. Billed After Service
Depending on where you live, GoNetspeed bills either in advance or after your service starts:
- Billed in advance: Your first bill will be higher, since it includes your partial (prorated) first month plus a full charge for the following month.
- Billed after service: Your first bill will be lower, since it only covers the partial days of service you used.
Either way, this is a one-time adjustment. Starting with your second invoice, your bill returns to your regular monthly rate.
