If you’re experiencing a No Signal issue on your television, please follow these steps to troubleshoot before reaching out for further assistance.
1) Determine the Scope of the Issue
- Are all TVs in your home affected, or just one?
- Does the screen display a message (e.g., “No Input”) or is it completely black?
2) Basic Checks
- Ensure the TV is powered on.
- If you see a “No Input” message, your TV may be set to the wrong input.
- Most cable boxes connect via HDMI.
- Use your TV remote to cycle through input options (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, etc.) until the correct one is found.
3) Check Cable Connections
- Make sure all cables are securely connected and undamaged:
- Coaxial cable should be connected to CATV IN on the back of the cable box.
- HDMI cable should run from the cable box to the TV.
- Inspect cables for any kinks, damage, or loose connections.
4) Power Cycle the Cable Box
- Unplug the cable box’s power cord from the outlet. Simply turning it off is not enough.
- Wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
- If the cable box does not power on, try plugging it into a different, working outlet.
If the cable box still won’t power on, a replacement may be needed.
