Step 1: Sign Up for Service
Step 2: The Fiber Line Is Run to Your Home
A few days before your installation date, a GoNetspeed crew will run a new fiber line from the pole to your house. You don’t need to be home for this part of the process — it happens ahead of your actual install appointment.
Step 3: Installation Day
When installation day arrives, the GoNetspeed installation team will meet you at your service address to complete the rest of the setup.
Exterior Work
The team starts outside, making sure everything at the box is set up correctly before running the new line from outside your home to the inside.
Connecting the ONT
Before any wiring is completed, your technician will walk you through the installation plan. Once you’re on the same page, installers connect the fiber line to an ONT (Optical Network Terminal) — the device that converts the optical signal into an Ethernet connection your devices can use.
Testing Your Connection
After the ONT is connected, installers test your connection to make sure you’re getting the speed your area supports, then connect your ONT to your new, free wireless router.
