Construction Manager

GoNetspeed is looking for a Construction Manager OSP Facilities to join our team.

We are looking for a reliable Construction Manager to plan construction projects and oversee their progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will be responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation and scheduling of the projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage all construction processes related to the construction of the point of presence equipment locations turn ups
• Supply of new electric service
• Supply new natural gas / propane gas service for new generator
• Obtain bids, permits and local R.O.W. easements if required
• Schedule contractors for electrical, cable placement, excavation etc.
• Schedule access with building owners and contractors
• Quality Control on closure of project
• Ensure that all jobs are maintained in a project tracking system with complete accuracy
• Computer / cad, excel experience required
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Ability to direct and diagnose work flow problems, critical paths and institute remedies
• Customer service orientation with a strong problem solving approach – strong interpersonal skills
• Strong computer skills – MS office and project management software knowledge

Skills

• Proven working experience in construction management
• Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
• Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
• Understanding of all facets of the construction process
• Familiarity with construction management software packages
• Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
• Competent in conflict and crisis management
• Leadership and human resources management skills
• Excellent time and project management skills

Education

• 5+ years of telecommunications project/order management experience
• BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field
